Description

The Maritime Museum is housed in the oldest and most prestigious building of the municipal assets, in the Village of Cesa: the Clock Tower in Ischia Ponte. Opened in late 1996, wants to express the peculiarity of the island's history. The earth was born from the sea, the soil has always found its destiny in the sea, work and love, has the right to collective memory visible. Museum objects and artifacts on display to the enjoyment of the public are the concrete result of the voluntary work done by a group of people driven purely by passion and curiosity for its own historical roots, social and cultural.

Description

It is a site of great historical importance ARCHAEOLOGICAL cultural, are currently ongoing excavation work.
Two thousand seven hundred years ago an eruption and subsequent lava flows sealed the building under a mass of boiling mud.
The archaeological site inside the Punta Chiarito park is similar to that of Herculaneum, but older than 7 centuries.
The discovery of the house, along with numerous tools and household utensils of the period brought to light, has allowed us to collect valuable new scientific information, essential for reconstructing the history of the settlement greek in Ischia and the Gulf of Naples. When the Greeks they came to Ischia, landed in Punta clarified.

Description

Il Contadino of Ischia has shaped over the millennia on the isle with the features of lava and tufa stone. It built thousands of kilometers of "parracine", the characteristic dry stone walls of the terraces of land, and still cellars, shelters, storage tanks, and even houses and churches carved into the tufa rock. It made the tools for its "heroic agriculture" ripping the rock pieces of land to cultivate vines.
At Il Contadino of Ischia the D’Ambra Vini, has dedicated a museum where they collected old tools, old "barrels" of wood, the presses of two centuries ago and still photographic evidence of civilization on the island of Ischia dates from the time of Greek rule (VII. C.).
On the walls of the museum are attached some maps of the island with relief aereofotogrammetric date back to 1950s and 1960, giving an idea of the extraordinary expansion of tourism on the island passed from peasant economy to that of spa tourism.

Description

Work in progress for the museum dedicated to Master Visconti, inside his island residence. Thanks to this structure the island conquers a new cultural scene becoming one of the most important international reference point about the character who marked the world, theatrical and cinematography story.
The museum wing, Villa La Colombaia, does not only conserve evidence of the life, the works of the count of Modrone and the relationship he had with the Island but it also has the potential - with a coherent and evocative reconstruction – to allow for the reappearance of the magic and the fascination of the house during Visconti’s time
Here one will see the costumes used on the movie director’s set and furnishings, sketches, photos and screenplays – all of this is a complex and unique mosaic for the visitor to take home as the soul and communicative force of Visconti.
On December 4th 2006: The President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano has placed the foundation La Colombaia di Luchino Visconti, under his permanent High patronage. The Chief of State explains that the foundation, with its art and spectacular events, is an important action for cinema and offers high level of culture with its Scuola Internazionale di Cinema e Teatro, preparing very well students to the job world. La Colombaia di Visconti, unique cultural institution dedicated to the great director, whose this year centenary of his birth occurs, is among the first South Italy foundations to participate, with Regione Campania, Provincia di Napoli, Municipality of Forio and Università degli Studi di Parma.
