Description
A legal act states that since 1300 there was a chapel where the church stands today. This church was enlarged and a became a parish in 1599. In 1792 the archbishop of Brindisi D. Annibale De Leo, who was in the Testaccio for spa at the Sudaturo, took charge of directing the parish. In the following years the church was enlarged and elongated, at various times and built a tower there.The church has four altars of which was one is a gift of Ferdinand II, a crucifix dates back to 1300, a picture of a very old Spigna and a cross.
A grave reminds us that once the church belonged to Cervera, noble family of Ischia.
