Description
Originally the monastery was set at the Villa Villari which was destroyed by lava in 1301. On the edge of the lava flow and where it is now the convent built, the church was built in 1740 and the convent was enhanced.Worked there until 1806, the monks at St. Clare's convent gave the monastery Clarisse, which stood there until 1911. The Church was given afterwards to the Friars Minor in 1920 and still officiate.
